CAPABILITIES

Grinding built for high-consequence parts

The work is technical. The outcome is simple: parts that assemble right and perform right.

ID Grinding

Bores and internal geometry with controlled size, form, and finish.

OD Grinding

Shafts and journals with repeatable setups for concentricity and finish.

Rotary Face

Seals and faces where flatness and surface finish are performance-critical.

Bevel Gears

Precision finishing for demanding geometry and mesh performance requirements.

What you can expect

A process plan, not a shrug. We confirm requirements up front, plan the setup, control the run with in-process checks, then document what matters.

Size
Controlled and verified across the run.
Form
Geometry checked where it affects assembly and function.
Finish
Surface condition aligned to sealing and bearing needs.
Docs
Inspection documentation and optional reporting.
Industries we support
High standards, repeat work, and real accountability.
  • Aerospace components and assemblies
  • Defense and high-reliability programs
  • Industrial OEM and critical spares
  • Prototype development and production runs
Straightforward communication
Clear updates, realistic schedules, and no surprises.

A family shop built on craft and follow-through

Our founder, Richard Duval, began his career in Chicopee, Massachusetts working alongside his father in a one-man, one-machine shop and continued his education through vocational training. In 1972, he moved his wife and young children to Orange County, California, building a reputation for work ethic and quality.

In 1980, Duval Precision Grinding was established and has continued to provide exceptional grinding services throughout the years. Today, Robert Duval continues the family tradition with over 30 years of hands-on grinding expertise and commitment to precision craftsmanship.

FAQ

Fast answers before the PO

Less back-and-forth, more forward progress.

Print (rev and notes), quantity, material condition, coatings, target dates, and inspection/reporting requirements. Clear inputs lead to faster, more accurate quoting.

Yes. We support prototype work and repeat production jobs built around stable processes and verification.

We provide documented inspection to customer requirements and can support optional reporting as requested.

We review requirements up front, define the setup and process plan, and use in-process checks to control size, form, and finish throughout the run. If a question comes up, you hear it early—when it’s easiest to solve.

We’re focused on grinding and the discipline around it: process planning, stable setups, verification, and consistent communication. If your part’s performance depends on geometry and finish, that’s our zone.
